✅ Presentation
THE Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter elements are officially approved by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. for use with gravity water filtration systems Berkey® and other similar systems. They are manufactured to provide an economical replacement solution to filters Black Berkey®, while ensuring high flow rate and effective filtration of contaminants.
🔬 Filtration technology
These filters use media based on CTC 60 activated carbon from coconut shells, activated at high temperature in a controlled environment. This process creates millions of micropores, dramatically increasing the adsorption surface area to trap a wide range of contaminants.
The mixture is then molded and sintered under precise pressure and heat to form a dense but highly porous structure, ensuring a effective reduction of contaminants while maintaining a optimal water flow.
The filter base is made from a glass reinforced polymer, ultra resistant, BPA free and compliant with standards NSF/FDA for food contact.
📜 Certifications
- NSF/ANSI 42: reduction of chlorine, taste and odors.
- NSF/ANSI 372: lead-free compliance.
Phoenix filters have been tested by independent accredited laboratories NABL, ISO 9000 and ISO 17025, according to EPA protocols and ANSI/NSF standards.
💧 Filtration performance
Filters Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ contain a dense matrix of millions of micropores forming a winding path (“tortuous path”) which retains:
- sediments, fine particles, rust and turbidity;
- undissolved forms of herbicides, pesticides and heavy metals;
- volatile organic compounds (VOCs), disinfectants, pharmaceutical residues and industrial chemicals;
- so-called perfluorinated compounds “eternal pollutants” (PFAS, PFOA, PFOS).
Gravity allows water to pass slowly through the filter media, extending contact time and improving contaminant reduction. The process retains oxygen and essential minerals (magnesium, calcium), ensuring fresh, natural tasting water. The filter does not modify total dissolved solids (TDS).
⚙️ Installation and compatibility
- Installation in minutes in the upper tank of any system Berkey® or other compatible gravity system.
- Fully compatible with filters Berkey PF-2® (reduction of fluoride and arsenic).
🔧 Contents of the box
- 2 Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filters
- 2 washers and 2 wing nuts
- 1 PrimeEasy™ Universal Primer (universal adapter for tap priming)
- 2 bottles of red dye for leak testing
- 1 user manual
PrimeEasy™ Universal Primer adapts to the majority of taps and spouts for quick and leak-proof priming. Priming is a necessary step before the first use or after a long period of inactivity, in order to eliminate manufacturing dust and expel the air contained in the pores of the filter.
📏 Specifications
- Lifetime : up to 2,750 gallons (≈ 10,400 liters) per filter, or 5,500 gallons (≈ 20,800 liters) for the set of two*
- Dimensions of a filter: approximately 24.1 cm high × 6.4 cm diameter (stem included)
- Box dimensions: approximately 30.5cm × 13.3cm × 7cm
- Total weight (box + contents): approximately 940 g
- Limited Warranty: 1 year
- Cleanable filters and reusable during their lifetime
*Lifespan may vary depending on the quality of the filtered water.
⚠️ Restrictions
Not available for sale to residents of California and of Iowa.
Noticed : These filters do not have certification NSF P231 (bacteria and viruses), nor P473 (PFAS/PFOS), nor the standard NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of heavy metals. Their use is therefore recommended mainly for already treated municipal water.
