How to clean the mineral basket?

Cleaning the mineral basket is necessary when a green down appears on the surface — a sign of too much exposure to light. Follow the steps below to clean it effectively.

Cleaning procedure

  1. Magnetic system only: open the trash and remove the white magnetic disk before any operation.
  2. Boil water with a tablespoon of coarse sea salt.
  3. Turn off the heat, then immerse the minerals in theboiling salt water.
  4. Let it act 5 to 10 minutes.
  5. Scrub the minerals under tap water to remove deposits.
  6. Rinse the basket and minerals thoroughly under tap water.
  7. Magnetic system only: put the white disc back inside the trash can before putting it back in place.
  8. Put the basket back in the fountain.
💡 Tip: To avoid the appearance of green fuzz, place your EVA fountain away from direct light (sun or intense lighting).
