The Phoenix Gravity New Millennium Edition™ filter elements are officially approved by New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. for use with gravity water filtration systems Berkey® and other compatible systems.

They constitute a economical alternative to Black Berkey® filters, with an optimized design to offer high and continuous flow, perfectly suited to water from the municipal network.

⚡ Rapid flow: normal and explained

The faster flow rate of Phoenix NME filters is normal operation and does not constitute a defect.

Unlike Black Berkey® filters, designed with a very dense matrix for uses including more varied water sources, the Phoenix NME uses a different structure, less dense and optimized for municipal water.

👉 This design allows:

• a smoother water passage through the filter media;
• a higher continuous flow ;
• faster production of filtered water for daily uses.

This technical choice is voluntary: it aims to improve comfort of use without compromising filtration performance.

🔬 Filtration technology

These filters use media based on CTC 60 activated carbon from coconut shells, activated at high temperature.

This process generates millions of micropores, forming a so-called structure. winding path, capable of effectively trapping many contaminants.

The structure is then sintered to guarantee a balance between:

• filtration efficiency ;
• optimized flow.

The filter base is made of glass reinforced polymer, BPA free and NSF/FDA compliant.

💧 Filtration performance

Filters Phoenix NME make it possible to reduce:

• sediments, rust and fine particles;
• pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals (undissolved forms);
• VOCs, pharmaceutical residues and chemicals;
• PFAS (perennial pollutants).

✔️ Their effectiveness was validated by independent tests on more than 200 contaminants.
✔️ The filter retains essential minerals and does not modify the TDS.

🧪 Dye test: simple check

If in doubt about the flow rate or the installation, a simple test can validate proper operation:

• Add some red food coloring in the upper tank
• Let the water pass through the filters
• Observe the water in the lower tank

👉 If the water remains clear:

• the filters are correctly installed
• no internal leaks present
• rapid flow is normal
