Berkey®- Help in the fight against counterfeit Berkey® and similar products
Counterfeit Berkey® and similar products may appear on third-party marketplace sites hosted by companies such as Amazon, eBay and similar marketplaces. They can also be sold on their own brand websites.
Imported counterfeits and similar brands often use the well-known and trusted Berkey® name to legitimize their own brand, create confusion in the marketplace, and trick consumers into purchasing their cheap carbon filters and other similar parts and products instead of genuine Berkey® products from Authorized Berkey® Dealers.
We are also aware of a growing number of unscrupulous individuals purchasing cheap lookalike filters primarily from Chinese sources, repackaging them in counterfeit Berkey® boxes, and then selling them on marketplace listings as "genuine" or "genuine Berkey®" products alongside our authorized resellers. .
Consumers purchasing counterfeit or similar water filters is making a dangerous miscalculation that could have serious consequences for the well-being of those who depend on the products to provide the same performance as Authentic Berkey® systems, especially in off-grid applications for use with fresh water sources like lakes, ponds, rivers and streams.
In order to push back the tide of these invasive competitors (and more particularly the illegal activity of counterfeit sellers), we will provide you with a series of graphics, which will inform you and allow you to recognize counterfeit filters. Here is the first graph, and more will follow.
