The CTO+ filter from Coldstream is more efficient than all Berkefeld filters by gravity. It is made in the United Kingdom, by the company KLT Filtration LTD. 

    Tests and verification

    Coldstream was successfully tested according to the following standards and methods:

    • USA EPA Method 508.1-2 Chlorinated, herbicides and organohalogenures in water by GCECD
    • USA EPA Method 515-2 chlorinated acids
    • USA EPA 524-2 Method measurement of organic compounds purge in water
    • USA EPA 525-2 method organic compounds in drinking water
    • USA EPA MESTHOD MS301 (A) A colorimetric test based on an indicator strip for nitrates (No3) in water and soil.

    The tests are carried out according to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and P231 standards by Environmentk Inc, New Jersey USA, EPA ID # NJ01298 NJ.

    Their laboratory complies with all procedures and requirements for laboratory certification and quality control set out in NJAC 7:18; Subpart 55-2 of the NYCRR, the standards of the National Institute Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) and the ISO 17025 standard.

    The filters were tested using a COLDSTream system according to NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and P231 standards for the reduction of listed substances.

    The reduction in the concentration of substances in water has been reduced to a value less than or equal to the water limit leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and P231 standards.

    To ensure that our Coldstream products meet high and constant standards, Coldstream has set up a series of strict quality control procedures.

    Finished filters are regularly tested to determine the size of the pores, the flow, the bubble point and the compression resistance, confirming that each lot will work perfectly.

    In addition to that, the effluent water they produce is subject to a sensory evaluation and chemical tests to ensure that all the contaminants have been eliminated.
